“The kids like coming to Help Point…. great for them to be around other children who have had a parent die so they know they are not alone in that.”
On the last Saturday of the month, between 10am and 12pm at the Orpington Methodist Church, we run a Help Point which is facilitated by extremely experienced and trained volunteers. It is a place for parents/carers to drop in and meet other families in a similar situation.
For any parents/carers who have children they’d like to bring along, we have a fully supervised, separate entertainment space. You don’t need to let us know you’re coming, but it is useful if you do know your children are attending the newly organised activities. Please book these by messaging your Family Support Worker on WhatsApp or by emailing familysupport@livingon.org.uk
For parents, there is a separate space to meet other bereaved parents/carers. You can come along at any time and stay for as little or as long as you like. It’s a place you can come to find out more about services and resources in the area for bereavement. We offer advice, guidance and a listening ear to those finding life difficult and it’s a place to meet other adults in a similar boat. The help point is for any time after a bereavement.
